For some reason, Blogger is having problems and not letting me post several pictures at once. So, here's one we took while walking down a super steep, 25% grade, one lane road that goes down 1000 feet in a mile. We decided it would be nice to get some exercise and hike down and then back up the road. We must have still had some jet lag, because that was a crazy idea. Our quadriceps were tired just going down the hill, it was like walking down stairs. And going back up was very demanding! But we made it, and then decided to drive the Jeep down the road anyway (they only allow cars with four wheel drive to use the road). I'll try to see if I can post more pics later...Oh, and this was at the Waipio Valley where the ancient Hawaiin royalty used to hang out. If you click on the picture to see it larger, you'll see the black sand beach at the bottom. We went down there - very beautiful. Soft black sand, blue waves, big cliffs...
